Fairchild Aerospace is in the process of pursuing the certification of performance-enhancing modifi-cations to its 328JET regional airliner and its corporate derivative, the Envoy 3. \rThe company says it is in the final stages of certifying the aircraft for operations up to 35,000 feet, which will provide reductions in fuel consumption. \rTrial installation of extended range fuel tanks for the Envoy 3, increasing its range to 2,000 miles, is taking place in Germany, with flight test scheduled to begin later this spring. Certification of the optional system is expected this summer.
