The Cabair group has purchased a 40 per cent shareholding in Thurston Helicopters, recently renamed London Helicopter Centres. Based at Redhill, with a further division at Elstree, the acquisition adds to Cabair's maintenance provisions for its eight flying schools and 100 light aeroplanes and helicopters, and to its engineering and spares division which includes Cabair Maintenance Ltd, Denham Aircraft Maintenance and the Oxford-based Cooper Aviation.\r Said Derek Edwards, director of Cabair; "London Helicopter Centres now maintains 64 different helicopters using their experienced engineers, technicians and a supportive administration team. The amalgamation is common sense, combining all aspects of our experience within the marketplace." Additionally, one of the first Eurocopter 120s will join Cabair's fleet later this year, according to Edwards.
