Becker Avionics has developed a medical application which it says will provide complete emergency surveillance of patients' cardiac parameters during air ambulance flights. Two years in development, the Medical Care Assistant (MCA 3000) will be available for airlines as well as medevac charter companies. In fact, an unnamed business operator will begin testing the equipment in May, and Becker Avionics anticipates making a saleable presentation of the system at ILA Berlin in June. \r"It will be possible to record fast and globally all relevant vital heart parameters like ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation, and this data can be transferred via radio link to a ground station," said Andreas Mann of Becker Avionics. The company says it is in discussions with several emergency services to provide "base stations" for the product. \rOrders will be taken when tests have been completed, Becker Avionics says. "We have got experiences in avionic development for over 40 years. With our new product, the MCA 3000, we are introducing a new market of avionic systems: The medical avionic."
