International SOS brings Hawker 125 air ambulance into Russian service
International SOS has added a specially fitted Hawker 125 air ambulance to its fleet.

International SOS has added a specially fitted Hawker 125 air ambulance to its fleet.

The aircraft, on lease from Avcom, functions as a medevac unit and is large enough to accommodate

a patient’s relatives during a rescue mission.

Based in Moscow, the Hawker will serve clients working in the fast developing areas of Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Turkmenistan and the Ukraine. It can also provide an aero-medical repatriation service for Russian members whether they’re working abroad or domestically.

Experienced aero-medical teams provided by International SOS in Moscow under the direction of the company’s area medical director, Dr René De Jongh, will man the new ambulance.

Said a spokesman: “This now gives the group an air ambulance capability that stretches from

Geneva across the whole of Europe and the Middle East, west towards the United States and south to middle Africa, with the remainder of the African continent covered from Johannesburg.”
