The first Fairchild Dornier 728 has been presented to the public for the first time at the company’s facilities in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. Several hundred employees and guests from industry, government and the news media attended its debut. The aircraft is scheduled to make its maiden flight this summer, with first deliveries to Lufthansa set for next year. Additional members of the 728 family are currently in development, including the Envoy 7, the corporate version of the 728. The Envoy 7 is based on the 728JET airframe, but offers increased fuel capacity and greater long-range performance with the addition of Super Shark winglets.

The corporate interior can be configured for up to 19 people, a conference area, stateroom, full galley and twin lavatories, and the latest communications systems. The first Envoy 7 is scheduled for delivery in 2004.
