Two adventurous seals named Guanche and Majo were recently helped home by Execair after winding up thousands of miles off course in the Mediterranean.
The two pups, who usually reside off the coast of Norway, were recovering from their marathon journey at the Loro Parque animal sanctuary in Tenerife under the care of veterinary director Dr Lorenzo Crosta.
Having been given the all clear to go back to the wild, Guanche and Majo began their journey onboard a Britannia Airways flight to the UK. In Glasgow, Execair took care of loading the seals on to a small private aircraft for the final leg. Travelling in two wooden crates, the adventurers were continually sprayed with water to ensure they arrived at their destination fit and well. Dr Crosta accompanied the seals all the way to Norway and they are to be released into a bay near Scapa Flow.
