Dassault Falcon Jet (DFJ) is planning to extend its aircraft parking at Paris le Bourget by the beginning of next year. Asked whether there was a space problem at Le Bourget, flight department director Paul-Franck Bijou told EBAN: “I think there’s a space problem for any company here but what is most important about this decision to expand, is that we’re making a provision for the years to come.
“Aircraft like the Falcon 7X are being built with larger and larger wingspans so obviously we have
to increase the space on the aircraft parking.”
Bijou says DFJ is also going to change the FBO process to make it more like a regular airline, investing in personnel and other resources. He explained: “It will be a more customer-oriented FBO. We already have quite a lot of handlers but what we’re going to do is invest in commercial handlers who will get to the aircraft early and ask the crews exactly what they need. So we’ll focus more on anticipating the needs of our clients.”
Also planning to expand at Le Bourget, by means of a new ramp, is Euralair. The company also expects completion by the beginning of next year.
Said ops manager Denis Bourgois: “We are waiting on authorisation form the airport authority but we are hoping to build the new ramp just the other side of the runway, close to our facilities. “At present we have one very large space at the airport but it’s located on the south side, which is very far from our FBO. To build this new area will be more efficient for us.”
