The Pacific Scientific Company of Duarte, California is working on the development of a cockpit restraint system for all MU-2 aircraft.
It will provide a restraint system for older MU-2 aircraft not originally equipped with a shoulder harness and a replacement for existing harnesses in late-model aircraft. The system will be available in the third quarter of 2002. “The new design allows for easy installation and can be installed in any MU-2,” said Noel Takayama, general manager of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc (MHIA).
“A four-point restraint system is a real benefit to pilots giving them more stability when flying in turbulence. “A pilot-activated locking mechanism provides extra security during take-off and landing,”
he continued.
