LORD Corporation’s mechanical products division has been selected to provide the engine attachment system for Dassault’s Falcon 7X programme by Pratt & Whitney Canada.
The deal, which includes the entire attachment system, from engine to airframe, follows a deal to provide an engine isolation system for the Falcon 2000EX, also with P&WC. The high-end business jet will be manufactured in France, where LORD engineers have begun working with P&WC on the joint design phase.
The first flight of the Falcon 7X is scheduled for early 2005, and the craft is expected to fly 5,700 km.
