TJS picks up roadshow custom for extended range 328JET
Following several audits last year, Austria’s Tyrolean Jet Services (TJS) is on the verge of receiving JAR OPS 1 certification.

Following several audits last year, Austria’s Tyrolean Jet Services (TJS) is on the verge of receiving JAR OPS 1 certification. Said managing director Martin Lener: “There are huge requirements and expectations to fulfil so we will be very pleased to receive this certification. It took us several months to get it.”

At present, TJS is trying to develop charter custom for its extend range Dornier Executive 328JET. The aircraft – which seats 14 passengers and has a flying range up to 1,800nm – is flown principally for TJS’ parent, the Swarovski Corporation, which is headquartered in Switzerland and carries out business all over the globe.

Said Lener: “The aircraft offers excellent payload with its huge baggage compartment, which is something which is very much liked by our touring clients.”

Just recently, TJS carried out a long roadshow for an investment bank, flying the clients from Scandinavia to Switzerland with stops in England, Italy and Spain.

In addition, the company is working with two other clients who want to hire the aircraft for concert tours this year.

Lener said: “It’s the perfect aircraft for Europe and as we say here, it’s a big Challenger. When you fly within Europe, the aircraft’s slight lack of speed compared to some business jets is not a major issue. Despite RVSM, the European air traffic space is still overloaded so a very fast aircraft like or our Falcon 900B is not always that advantageous.

“The 328JET flies around 400 knots but comes with a really enormous cabin so we think it’s a good package which comes at a reasonable price.”

For this reason, TJS is pushing its marketing activities for the extended range 328JET a little more intensively. “Its main plus points,” said Lener, “are that it fills a new segment on the market and you get lots of aircraft for money which would normally only get you a midsized business jet.”

TJS’ other charter offerings include a standard 328JET which is available in either 19, 26 or

29-seat configuration, a seven-seater Citation VII and the long-range Falcon 900B.

The latter has been in operation since 1988 and says Lener, enjoys great popularity on the worldwide charter market.
