Ibis Aerospace’s second flying prototype of its multi-mission propjet, the Ae270, has successfully flown for the first time. The aircraft took to the skies over Aero Vodochody’s manufacturing facility outside Prague in the Czech Republic.

At the controls were Aero test pilots Ladislav Snydr and Miroslav Schutzner. The Ae270 (serial number three) made three flights totalling two hours of flight time during which the aircraft climbed to an altitude of 10,000 feet and established a speed of 180 knots.

Ibis general manager Milos Valis stated: “Serial number three will be the conforming prototype for the Ae270 type certification process. The first flight of this aircraft reaffirms our belief that our Ae270 Propjet is a superior, medium-range multiple-mission aircraft.”

Jeff Conrad, vp of marketing, commented: “Interest in the Ae270 Propjet continues to grow. This is an exciting milestone for Ibis. The aircraft has performed remarkably and our customers are anxious to put it into service.”
