Gulfstream’s IV/ IV-SP has successfully completed the European JAA catch-up validation process. Accordingly, a letter of recommendation for issuance of National Type Certificates has been sent to all JAA member countries. The letter of recommendation is the result of a comprehensive programme that was initiated more than a year ago and included the involvement of the FAA.
“We are pleased that the JAA has validated and recommended the Gulfstream IV/IV-SP to its 25 member countries,” said Bill Boisture, Gulfstream president and coo. “We are particularly excited that our aircraft was the first to successfully complete the JAA catch-up process.”
The 425 Gulfstream IV/ IV-SP aircraft in service have accrued more than 1.5 million flight hours and more than 770,000 landings while maintaining a 99.6 per cent reliability rate. Said Joe Walker, senior vp of worldwide sales: “It is consistent with our commitment to the European market and provides our current European customers with a new level of flexibility in the operation of their aircraft.”
