The second aircraft in Bombardier’s Continental programme has successfully completed its first flight, eight weeks after the first Continental completed its maiden voyage.

The first flight for this second Continental jet was designed to evaluate aircraft systems functionality. During the course of the flight, the pilots conducted numerous tests on the aircraft’s bleed-air, hydraulics, fuel, electrical and avionics systems.

The third and fourth aircraft in the flight test programme are currently in final production and will soon be transferred to the Bombardier Flight Test Centre to join the programme, while the fifth aircraft is on the production line in Wichita. A sixth aircraft, not destined for flight testing, is also on the production line.
