Raytheon Aircraft’s Premier I has gained certification in Germany, marking its first international certification and paving the way for 26 deliveries of the composite-fuselage aircraft into that country.
The first Premier delivery into Germany is scheduled for next year. Of the more than 300 Premier I orders, about 50 are from Europe, which includes the German orders. Approximately 100 international customers from 27 countries have ordered the Premier I. Luftfahrt-Bundesamt issued the Type Certification after conducting a thorough four-month review of the aircraft.
“Germany fielded a very professional team that reviewed structures, electrical and avionics, aircraft performance, environ-mental systems, cabin safety, mechanical systems, propulsion and flight test,” said Tom Sarama, vp of engineering.
“We will not be required to make any physical changes to the aircraft; just minor changes such as placards and flight manuals. We look forward to the completion of our next certifications in South Africa, Mexico, Brazil, the UK, and Switzerland,” Sarama added.
