Jet Aviation Basel reports that it has recently modified the first GV to receive a JAA certificate in Europe. The aircraft modifications were performed in a four-week period under the supervision of Gulfstream and included structural modifi-cations on the aircraft’s wings and pylons along with modifications on the avionics and electrical systems.

At the customer’s request the modifications were performed at Jet Aviation Basel, where the aircraft’s interior was originally outfitted. Since the customer wanted to register the aircraft in Italy, JAA conformity was necessary, requiring software modifications, including the conversion of the US standard measurement system to the metric system on the cockpit fuel displays.

A Gulfstream quality inspector along with three Gulfstream certificate engineers supervised the certification.
