German chancellor Gerhard Schröder will open the ILA 2002 exhibition on May 6. The ceremonies will take place that day at Berlin Schönefeld Airport in the presence of some 2,000 representatives of business, politics and the media. The ILA Berlin-Brandenburg is being opened by the German chancellor for the first time since its relocation to Berlin in 1992. The organisers are expecting a record attendance by more than 1,000 exhibitors from the entire aerospace sector.
