Eaton Corporation has been awarded a contract to supply an electro/optical level sensor that will automatically activate the inflation of a helicopter’s flotation device in the event of a water landing. Sikorsky is installing the unit on the S92 Helibus. The company will also supply Smart Zapper chip detection technology for the main transmission, intermediate and tailrotor gearboxes in the AB 139 Agusta/Bell 12-15 passenger helicopter.
