Diamond cuts a deal and lands up with a Cheyenne II
German-based sales broker Diamond Air Service has taken delivery of a Cheyenne II, in a part-exchange deal with a client who wished to upgrade to a Cheyenne 400.

German-based sales broker Diamond Air Service has taken delivery of a Cheyenne II, in a part-exchange deal with a client who wished to upgrade to a Cheyenne 400. General manager Wolfgang Krombach said: “We picked up the Cheyenne II in July and are currently preparing it for JAR OPS1 certification, so that operators can immediately charter the aircraft upon purchase.” The company doesn’t charter itself, and made the deal purely for resale purposes.

When asked of the advantages of the Cheyenne II, Krombach replied: “This particular aircraft suits the European market very well, due to its range and price. We are selling it for $800,000, and marketing it towards private companies as a company aircraft. There has already been a great deal of interest in it.” Diamond’s client base comes from all over Europe, including Eastern Europe where previously untapped demand is being taken advantage of. “The sales market is picking up again, due to the stability of prices.

Demand has risen because potential purchasers are gaining more confidence in the fact that prices will not fall any further,” said Krombach.

Diamond also owns a Cessna Caravan 208, which is up for resale. The company generally prefers to purchase aircraft and then sell them on, in order to make any alterations necessary. Krombach added: “We are involved in most aspects of corporate aviation except for chartering. At present there are no expansion plans, but as the market develops we will respond accordingly.” Diamond said that it is currently looking at a number of King Airs and Caravans to add to its inventory.
