On Thursday July 19, in Mérignac, France, the first Falcon 2000EX came off the production line. Jean-François Georges, senior vice president of civil aircraft for Dassault Aviation, and Jean Rosanvallon, president of Dassault Falcon Jet Corp reiterated the fact that certification by the JAA and FAA is planned for the third quarter of 2002. Customer deliveries of completed aircraft are scheduled at the start of 2003.
The company’s new EASy cockpit, which is initially being offered on the Falcon 900EX, will eventually be incorporated on other widebody Falcons. Plans are for the 2000EX to be equipped with EASy, starting in 2004.
Dassault’s Falcon 2000EX has a normal cruising speed of .80 Mach and the nonstop capability is 3,800 nautical miles.
