Plans are afoot to build a new service centre for executive jets at Carlisle airport in the UK. A new terminal building and cargo facilities will also be built.
The move comes after Drivers Jonas had advised Carlisle City Council on its sale of Carlisle airport to Haughey Air Limited. The city council put the loss-making airport up for sale at the end of 1999 and offered a 150-year lease with an obligation to keep the airport open for at least the next ten years.
Ollie Saunders from Drovers Jonas’ specialist airports team said: “We are pleased to have successfully completed this deal with both sides delighted with the outcome.”
Drivers Jonas currently advises a number of airports clients in the UK, including BAA, London City and Newcastle International.
