The UK’s Farnborough airport is to benefit from a £9 million deal with Stenoak Associated Services to improve its airside infrastructure.
The work consists of upgrading the airfield from its current Ministry of Defence specification to CAA Category 1 standard required for business aviation services.
Stenoak will construct a new starter strip for the main runway, resurface the runway and adjacent taxiways and renew the airport’s ground lighting, drainage facilities, apron marking and signage.
The contract was awarded by TAG Aviation. Work is scheduled to end in December 2001.
The contract is the third major airport project in the UK to be awarded to Stenoak following the completion of London Manston Airport in Kent and Norwich Airport in Norfolk.
