A new £600,000 fuel storage facility has been installed at London Biggin Hill airport to replace the original fuel farm that was de-commissioned following years of active service.

Air BP supplied the new facility to meet the airport’s criteria for maximum safety of operation, environmental protection and cost effectiveness of repair.

Said a spokesman: “The new fuel facility can be extended to meet the growth in demand whilst still offering a high standard of operation.”

The fuel storage facility consists of three storage tanks for Jet A-1 offering a combined total of 150,000 litres (nominal) storage and a compartmented tank for Avgas offering a combined total of 50,000 litres (nominal) storage to aviation standards.
