PrivatAir has completed the first stage in a $1.1 million refurbishment programme of its recently purchased ground handling services at Le Bourget Airport in Paris.
The first of nine hangars has been refurbished, allowing facilities of larger jets such as the Global Express and Gulfstream IV. PrivatAir’s terminal has also been given a temporary facelift, though it will be rebuilt three times larger over the next twelve months to accommodate office suites requested by base customers, providing lounge facilities for passengers and pilots.
“We are bringing PrivatAir’s reputation to Le Bourget and to other airports and are already using our facilities to offer arrival services for large aircraft and increasing our share of the inter-plane fuelling business here,” said Richard Webb, PrivatAir’s general manager at Le Bourget. “We were delighted to have the opportunity to purchase the Transair facilities earlier this year as they gave us a 30 per cent share of all air movements at Le Bourget. However the ground handling facilities were in great need of an overhaul and we’ve just completed the first part of a two-year refurbishment programme, which will radically transform the standard and appearance of the facilities,” he said.
