Alain Prost gives Flexjet the chequered flag at Paris

Formula One legend and Grand Prix team owner Alain Prost was at the Paris Air Show after signing up to Bombardier’s Flexjet fractional ownership programme. He bought a sixteenth share of a Learjet 31A.

“It makes good business sense,” said Prost. “The combination of increasing commercial airline delays and inconvenient connection to locations often only served once a day wastes time and money. Being able to fly directly to and from local airfields or major international airports allows us to get on with the business of becoming more competitive in the fast-paced world of Formula One.”

Prost retired from Formula One in 1993 after 199 Grand Prix events, including 51 wins and four championships. In 1997, Mr Prost acquired Ligier Team and formed Prost Grand Prix.

Prost will use the Learjet 31A to fly from the Prost Grand Prix headquarters on the outskirts of Paris to his home and office in Geneva, to F1 manufacturing facilities across the region (Prost Grand Prix is now manufacturing its own racing cars), and, of course, to races.
