Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation has announced at this year’s Paris Air Show that the Galaxy and the Astra SPX are to be renamed the Gulfstream G200 and Gulfstream G100 respectively. This follows General Dynamics’ recent acquisition of Galaxy Aerospace, whose management and operations are currently being integrated with those of Gulfstream Aerospace. The company now offer
s a fleet of business jet aircraft that can fly from between 2,950 to 6,750 nautical miles.
Joe Walker, Gulfstream’s senior vice president of worldwide sales said: “The G200’s cabin is very spacious, similar in size to the Gulfstream II.”
Israel Aircraft Industries will continue to manufacture the G200 and G100 at production facilities in Tel Aviv, Israel. The assembled ‘green’ super mid-size G200s will then be flown to Gulfstream’s 165,000
square foot completion centre at Alliance Airport in Texas for the design and installation of interiors and optional equipment.
Initially the G100 will continue to be completed at Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska.
