Helicopter support propels higher earnings for CHC
CHC Helicopter Service has been awarded a five year contract renewal worth $27 million annually, for helicopter support out of Kristiansund in Norway. The rate is significantly higher than the $19 million the contract earned CHC last year, and was awarded on behalf of Statoil, Norsk Hydro and Norske Shell. The extended contract means CHC will continue to provide crew change work for one Super Puma and two Super Puma Mk2s, sustaining their offshore support business. The CHC base in Kristiansund also supports the Draugen, Heidreun, Njord and Asgard fields as well as exploration rigs in the region. Statoil also extended an existing contract for another year with CHC in Bronnoysund for a Super Puma, at the same rates.
