Markoss deploys 125 for block hour scheme

UK-based Markoss Aviation has begun operations on a new service it says is as suited to the largest multi-site corporation as it is an individual entrepreneur. The company makes use of a Hawker 125-700 it picked up in April to ferry passengers to their chosen destination.

With no deposit or management fees required, Markoss sells blocks of hours to its customers and includes in its service, complementary helicopter pick-ups by Agusta 109.

Markoss md Chris Stepto said: “We are pleased to be launching a service which revolutionises the way most people think about exclusive business travel. We are, in effect, offering all the services of a corporate jet, available on demand, with personalised and confidential service, without the headaches of company ownership.”

Sales and marketing director Lynne Tucker added: “This is ideal for companies with bases in Europe. It’s a flexible service; you’re not tied to schedules, you can visit more than one European city in one day and avoid all the hassles associated with busy airports.”

Markoss’ Hawker 125 carries up to eight passengers and has an onboard entertainment system, electrical points for laptop computers and a global satcom system for calls, emails and faxes. Tucker told EBAN: “What people love about the 125 is the stand-up cabin and lavatory. It is a very popular aircraft.” Indeed, staff at Markoss are so taken with the Hawker that the company is planning to add a 125-800 next year.

Markoss offers corporate facilities at its headquarters at London’s Biggin Hill – meeting room, private lounge, attendants and full confidentiality are included in the service.
