US-based Flight Environments has opened an office in Genk, Belgium, in response to what it refers to as a rapidly growing European customer base. The company develops aircraft products which provide noise reduction, thermal stability and fire and heat protection.

“We selected Belgium as the ideal location for several reasons,” said Flight Environments president and ceo Eamon Halpin. “We can easily reach a majority of our European customers within hours and the experienced management staff we recruited for the European market were already located in Belgium.”

Flight Environments customers include Germany’s Lufthansa Technik and Switzerland’s Jet Aviation. According to manager of European operations Luc Stultjens, Flight Environments plans to add up to four additional employees at the Belgium office later this year, in order meet the increased demands.
