Platinum Air 2000 has reported that its regular service between Biggin Hill and Blackpool is already doing so well that demand has rapidly grown for a daily operation.

Platinum Air’s chief executive John Mason said: “We are so pleased that we are planning to operate this business shuttle route on a daily basis from the end of April.”

Business travellers using the service are mostly from the financial services sector in Lancashire and Merseyside, who are travelling into London.

Platinum Air reports that its service shaves three and a half hours off the length of the train journey.

A spokesman added: “In the meantime, until the service operates on each weekday and in order to make life easier for Northbound travellers, Platinum Air is offering passengers travelling from London one night’s complimentary hotel stay in the Langdales Hotel, St Annes.

“This family-run hotel is perfect for business travellers wanting somewhere quiet to work, with en suite rooms, and hotel bar, located ten minutes from the airport.”

The Platinum Air service to Blackpool currently operates on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with first arrival from Blackpool at 0800 and departure back to Blackpool at 1800hrs. Operated on a Jetstream 31, with 18 seats, flight time is one hour.
