Galaxy Aerospace has unveiled a free maintenance programme for the Galaxy business jet. Under the terms of the Galaxy No Charge Maintenance Programme, Galaxy will provide new purchasers of the aircraft with five years or 2,500 flight hours of free maintenance, whichever occurs first.
The programme is available on selected aircraft and covers all maintenance, as well as the cost of parts, including typical high-wear items such as tyres and brakes.
The aircraft’s Honeywell auxiliary power unit and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW 306A engines are covered under separate fixed-hourly-fee maintenance plans from their respective manufacturers.
“This free maintenance programme could easily save the owner of a typical midsize jet as much as $750,000 on maintenance versus their current aircraft,” said president and ceo of Galaxy, Brian Barents. “It gives them the opportunity to move up to a more comfortable, more capable aircraft at what is likely to be a lower overall operating cost.”
The No Charge Maintenance Programme covers routine maintenance activities, which Galaxy says will save operators tens of thousands of dollars per occurrence.
After the first 2,500 flight hours, Galaxy owners continue in the company’s new StarParts programme, under which operators pay a fixed fee per hour for spare parts. Current operators are also eligible to enrol in the StarPArts programme, as are purchasers of pre-owned Galaxy aircraft.
“StarParts provides reasonable and predictable costs even after the No Charge Maintenance Programme and warranties expire,” said Barents. “We are not the first business aviation company to provide such a programme, but ours will ensure that the Galaxy remains one of the most economical aircraft to operate as it matures.”
