Wingwalker widens its options
Avinex, the company that gave us the Wingwalker, and also EBAN’s raunchy front cover photo in November 2000, has developed additions to the range of foldable aircraft towbars.

Avinex, the company that gave us the Wingwalker, and also EBAN’s raunchy front cover photo in November 2000, has developed additions to the range of foldable aircraft towbars.

The AV30 is powered by an electric motor and a rechargeable 12 volt battery. It has two forward and two reverse speeds and a universal attachment to fit most light aircraft at the nose-wheel axle. The AV40 is similar but is used for aircraft that have towbar attachment points on the oleo strut.

The AV20 is human-powered via a crank-handle and has a universal attachment to fit most light aircraft at the nose-wheel axle. It also folds in half for storage in the aircraft baggage compartment.

The AV50 is made almost entirely out of aluminium – at 7.5kg it is half the weight of the AV10, the original Wingwalker launched last year.

Finally, the TR10 is made of high quality steel and is foldable for transport or storage. The design incorporates a powerful shock absorber to prevent damage to the aircraft nose-wheel assembly.
