LHT delivers customised 777
The vip centre at the Lufthansa base in Hamburg has delivered the world’s first Boeing 777 with an entirely customised cabin interior. Completed under a contract from the customer, the ‘triple seven’ was flown to Hamburg in November 1999 from the Boeing plant in Seattle – it arrived with an empty and unfinished interior. Lufthansa engineers designed, produced and installed the vip cabin which was completed ahead of schedule – the Boeing 777 left the hangars of the centre 41 days in advance of the stipulated delivery date.
