Greg Evans is now the sole shareholder, ceo and president of Universal Weather and Aviation. Since 1979, he has held positions in marketing, sales and flight operations, as well as guiding Universal’s international network through expansion in the CIS states and the far east.
He also involved himself in the company’s internet policy and has orchestrated a “master organisation plan” for Universal’s future development.
“As we start this new chapter, all of us at Universal are reminded every day of the customer-centric philosophy with which this company was built,” Evans intoned. “We will never lose track of what got us here.”
Other appointments concerning the board of directors have seen Joe Rachelle named co-chairman of
the board and of the officers’ executive committee. Marjorie Evans will be co-chairman of the board, and secretary.
Doug Kelley has become vice president and chief financial officer; Ralph Vasami has become vice president/ coo in charge of sales and marketing and UVdatalink; Jim Knox has become vice president/ chief legal officer; and John Adle will continue in his guise as president of UVair (fuel division) along with Bill Carrion as vice president.
Universal has been in the field of flight support since 1959, when the company was founded by Tom Evans. Headquarters remain in Houston, Texas.
