Building has started on a million pound ‘Rotor Village’ development at Wolverhampton Business Airport in the UK. Three hangars with accompanying office accommodation measuring 4,400, 5,000 and 3,050 square feet are being built to host the increasing number of helicopters housed on the site.
Construction is due to be completed in June and two of the first tenants will be the Three Counties police helicopter and charter company Heliflight, both of which are moving from existing sites at the airport. Heliflight has a fleet of 12 helicopters from two to six seaters, for charter and training.
John Williams of Heliflight said, “The new facility will enhance our business offer, we are delighted that our growth works in parallel with the investment in the airport.”
The airport’s chairman Graham Hampton Silk commented, “The commencement of the building of the rotor village is of great importance. It is one of the key elements in the continued upgrading of the facility.”
