Lots of aircraft, just one day; plans for BGAD gather pace
We are pleased to release more information about the range of activites taking place at this year’s UK Business & General Aviation Day (BGAD01). Our stated aim of packing a three day show into one is coming to fruition, as is a secondary aim to have events taking place that will attract as wide an audience as possible.

We are pleased to release more information about the range of activites taking place at this year’s UK Business & General Aviation Day (BGAD01). Our stated aim of packing a three day show into one

is coming to fruition, as is a secondary aim to have events taking place that will attract as wide an audience as possible.

The exhibition area will be showcasing many of the major names in our industry, including companies such as Honeywell/Bendix King, Universal Weather & Aviation, FlightSafety International, BE Aerospace, Airshow, Signature Engineering, Lifeport, Exxon Mobil, Shell and Air BP.

We are pleased to see many of the specialist suppliers at BGAD too, including companies such as Avionics Mobile Services, Aero Quality Sales, Air & General Finance and MP Bolshaw & Co Ltd. We are delighted to welcome the innovative British project of Farnborough Aircraft.com. Headed by world land speed repord winner Richard Noble, this company believes that it will revolutionalise the way business aircraft are operated worldwide. The exhibition area at BGAD will concentrate on offering you the opportunity of talking directy to your contacts, you will not have to wade through unnecessary visuals to get to the person you want to talk to – who is probably hiding at the back of the stand! BGAD is about doing business.

A top line up of aircraft will feature in our static display, some of which may be offering demonstration flights. Business aviation in Europe does not mean simply jets, and our aircraft display is reflecting this. We have aircraft from Eurocopter, Piper, TBM, Cessna (Caravan and Citation), Raytheon (Hawker) and Dassault (Falcon) so far scheduled to attend. The aircraft are either being displayed by their manufacturers

or their UK sales agents. They are all up close and open for you to inspect directly outside of the exhibition area.

There will be useful meetings to attend at BGAD – all free of charge – to enhance the benefit from your investment of time. The Business Aircraft Users Association (BAUA) will be hosting one of their regular meetings on site at BGAD, and we are pleased to report that Captain John Robinson will be presenting an hour long update of technical issues that are needing to be addressed by aircraft owners and operators. John is operations consultant to GAMTA and is active on committees that are considering future legislative changes. He is well respected for his in-depth knowledge of compliance issues.

As well as the business aviation part of BGAD, we are lining up other attractions to make your day enjoyable as well as profitable. BBC Air is bringing its ex-Queens Flight de Havilland Dove to BGAD; our catering will be provided by specialist in-flight caterers Thinking Food. The Marshall Group of companies also includes a number of car dealerships in and around the Cambridge area, who will be showing some of their top of the range vehicles from marques such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz. There will be some vintage aircraft on display – and possibly flying.

BGAD will be attracting existing owners of business aircraft as well as prospective owners and users

of business aircraft. No industry can survive without attempting to attract a new market and our industry is no exception.

We are delighted that NetJets Europe have agreed to take an active part in BGAD, bringing at least two aircraft to the event and working with the show organisers and Marshall Aerospace to attract as many potential users of business aviation to BGAD. We also have charter companies attending and we are working hard with all the exhbitors to guarantee a well targeted audience for all of us to benefit from.

Entry to BGAD is free of charge by ticket, which will be made available to all exhibitors. These tickets will also be mailed out with forthcoming issues of EBAN leading up to BGAD on June 14th.
