A Boeing 747-200 has become the world’s most spacious executive jet available for charter, according to the UK’s Air Partner, which created and is marketing the aircraft. The company says this particular charter product was developed in response to a call from an exclusive tour operator which had sold an around-the-world programme but needed an aircraft to replace Concorde following its grounding in the summer.
The Boeing 747 Executive is configured with 106 seats, which enables passengers to stretch out into a 68-inch pitch. It has a 12-13 hour range and can cover London-Los Angeles distances non-top. Addit-ionally, passengers have a baggage allowance of 100 kilos per person plus ‘ample’ cabin stowage room.
A spokesman said: “The aircraft has been completely refurbished with luxury leather business seats and has a dedicated cabin crew of 14. Inflight entertainment is provided via individual DVD players. There is also the added luxury of two lounge areas – a cocktail bar in the nose section and a reading room, which can be converted into a bedroom, on the upper deck.”
Despite the fact that Concorde is due back in service this year, Air Partner business development manager David Macdonald says the B747 Executive is still expected to appeal to conference, event, incentive travel and group organisers as well as the vip and exclusive travel market.
