Following the award of FAA type certification to New Piper Aircraft’s Malibu Meridian, reported in the last issue of EBAN, one of the company’s European distributors has announced growing interest from potential buyers.

Anglo American Airmotive is New Piper’s distributor for the UK, Eire and Spain. Commenting on the news, marketing manager John Norris said: “We have sold 23 Malibu aircraft in the UK and have at least three orders with the factory for the latest Malibu Meridian.”

Meanwhile, the first customers to take possession of New Piper Aircraft’s entry into the single-engine turbo-prop market, lifted the aircraft off from the company’s base in Florida on November 7.

Piper reports that the Meridian adds a vital element to its model line-up, and claims that it incorporates technologies and capabilities previously unavailable in aircraft of this class.
