The UK Met Office has begun placing its F214 and F215 forecasts on the internet, at www.met-office.gov.uk/aviation.
Both forecasts are fundamentally for primary safety information; and the Met Office said the move was part of its ongoing commitment to safety.
F214s are spot-wind charts showing predicted wind speed and direction at various altitudes, allowing pilots to plan fuel consumption more accurately. F215s provide information about turbulence, thunderstorms and icing.
Meanwhile, Sky-Alliance.com is also offering meteorological information for pilots over the net, free of charge. TAF/METAR, TEMSI, satellite and low level charts, NOTAMs, and downloadable aerodrome charts will be available.
