European authorities certify Bombardier training programmes
Bombardier Aerospace has received European Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) certification as a Type-Rating Training Organisation (TRTO) for the company's business jets and regional aircraft. The company is the first North American aircraft manufacturer to acquire comprehensive European approval for its training programmes. "With this broad certification, our customers now have access to a greatly expanded pool of qualified pilots," said David Orcutt, vp and general manager of customer support. "In addition, pilots qualified on our aircraft in one JAA member state will now be licensed to fly aircraft registered in any JAA member state."
