Florence-based Delta Aero-Taxi has ordered seven Citation Mustangs. The Italian company will use the aircraft in its new fractional ownership programme. A long-time Citation customer, Delta Aero-Taxi currently operates a Citation X.

“The Citation Mustang is ideal for Europe because of the relatively short distances operators travel and the low acquisition cost.

“It makes a very viable business proposition for both the operator and buyer,” said Carlo Panerai, president of Delta Aero-Taxi.

Introduced at this year’s NBAA convention, the Mustang will be powered by two turbofan engines, with a cruise speed of 340 knots and a maximum operating altitude of 41,000 feet.

FAR Part 23 certification is expected in mid-2006, with first customer deliveries in the fourth quarter of 2006.
