ACE 2026 - The home of global charter.
The bimonthly news publication for aviation professionals.
Plock-based Ace Aviation is looking to buy an EC135 or A109 Power on behalf of an executive client – or for another company to station their helicopter permanently in Poland.
President and founder Arek Zoltowski explained: “My clients requested me to do a study on seven types of aircraft. While buying a new aircraft is a possibility, it would mean spending money which, politically, is not an easy decision to make in Poland right now.
“For the missions in question, we’re looking for a medium-sized helicopter and the Power would
be ideal as it is in nonstop flight range of Warsaw.”
Ace currently operates a leased Bell 206, running annual contracts for the two biggest government-owned companies which handle oil and gas. The company flies over 700 hours per year, of which 600 are on pipeline patrol.
Said Zoltowski: “With such a big workload and demand on the increase, we are looking for an investor with the right equipment. Best suited would be another helicopter company with spare helicopters. A company which thinks ‘East’ and wants to operate out of Poland would be perfect.”
Zoltowski says he has been running a helicopter company in Poland since 1992 and has observed that now is the peak time to get involved in executive helicopter travel. He said: “Many business people travelling from Western Europe land in Warsaw and have business to attend to in Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania. In Poland right now, there are not nearly enough aircraft available for charter judging by the amount of enquiries I receive from within this country and abroad.
“There are two Bell 206s used by the police, and one 412 used by the government to carry ministers; then in private hands, there is one 206 operated by the owner of Polsat TV station, one 206 operated by my company, one 407 operated by White Eagle Aviation and two 427s used for private operations.”
How many companies are interested in this venture, it is hard to say but to Zoltowski’s thinking, “this is the perfect opportunity for an expansion eastwards.”
