The first Adam Aircraft A500 has made its first flight. Watched by the company’s staff, the 40-minute
involved series of aircraft handling and engine performance tests, including cycling the flap system. It manufacturers say that it delivers a 1,1500 nm range and has seating for six passengers.
Adam Aircraft CEO Rick Adam said: “Our team has worked very hard over the past four years to develop the A500. Now it is time to test the aircraft, attain certification on schedule, and then get the aircraft on the market.”
The company says it has a second test aircraft under construction and fabrication of parts for a third will begin soon. After developmental testing, the three test aircraft will undergo a series of test flights in preparation for FAA certification, targeted for early 2003.
