Windrose Air Flugcharter has finally received certification to offer what it claims is the first Gulfstream IV for charter in Germany. The aircraft is operated on behalf of an undisclosed owner and marks Windrose’s entrance into the intercontinental market.
“It really is a big deal in Germany to have this type of aircraft on offer.
It took a long time to get permission and registration from the German authorities, but it has already attracted a number of enquiries,” said sales manager Ute Kampschulte.
The rest of the company’s fleet includes a CitationJet, Citation Bravo, Citation V and a Lear 60,
none of which are more than three years old.
“It’s not too problematic having different manufacturers’ aircraft in our fleet, although it would be better if there was only one. Nevertheless, it is necessary as our clients like to have the choice of different types of aircraft,” said Kampschulte. The fleet is a mixture of managed and owned aircraft.
“The Gulfstream has attracted a variety of clients. Most are vips, including musicians, actors and senior businessmen.
“I think the business for it will grow over the next year, because the European and worldwide brokers are very interested in the GIV.
“It has 13 seats and if the clients want to sleep on long haul flights, the seats can also be reconfigured to sleep five passengers.
“In addition we’re now looking to add another Lear 60, because there is too much demand for our current Lear to cope with,” she added.
