Adding to a fleet of around 50 aircraft, Aviation Assistance is now offering a G200 for charter. The Danish based company is leasing the aircraft from a client which replaced its Hawker 800XP. “For us entering the longer-range market the choice was between this and something like a Falcon
2000. The reason why we went for a G200 was simply because it was a better deal.
“There are less operating costs, it has better performance, a greater speed and requires 20 per cent less investment. And this is what counts when you’re in a competitive charter market,” said company director Martin Glamann.
The company owns around seventy per cent of its fleet, which contains a mixture of King Air 200s, Beech 1900s, Citation IIs, a Hawker 800 XP and two King Air 350s. “We needed the capacity to fly to North America, which is why we sought a longer-range aircraft. It’s too early to say how the Danish charter market will respond to it, because we only brought it into operation around three weeks ago. However, it has already made a few flights. It was in Teterboro yesterday, Buffalo today and prior to this we’ve made flights to Vienna and Nice,” said Glamann.
The G200 has a standard configuration, with four club seating, a three place couch and another single club. “The aircraft can hold two crew members in jump seats, nine in the cabin and there's a belted toilet,” he said.
Glamann continued: “We mainly fly Scandinavian clients, although we often operate out of Africa as well. The most common flights are over to central Europe. It’s not a very populated area up here, but there are still people who use corporate aircraft. I see a growth in the market but not to the extent of that over in mainland Europe, because this is not such a rich part of the world.
“We are now entering a new market with the G200 and eventually the company will be looking to add more longer-range aircraft.”
