GV Executive has added an Embraer Legacy to its charter fleet, after securing a management deal with Pisco Overseas. “This is the first aircraft Pisco has owned and we are pleased to announce it as an addition to our fleet. It complements our other aircraft well, which include a Gulfstream V and a Hawker Sidley 125-800,” said Urs Gisel, chief pilot.
The Legacy will be located at the company's base in Zurich, Switzerland, which will enable a large catchment area due to its 3,000 mile range. “The new addition will mainly fly around Europe, the Middle East, US and sometimes Africa. In fact, we have already had a request to fly from Zurich to LA. If a passenger is willing to make a fuel stop and pay a little less than the Gulfstream V, then that is fine with us,” said Gisel.
The pilot believes that in its price range, this aircraft gives the best value for money. “It’s the ideal addition to our fleet for short and medium range flights. Compared with a new Challenger or Falcon 2000, the $20 million price tag is a very good deal. It’s a 13 seat aircraft, airline standard and has an excellent interior,” he said.
The Legacy has club seating for four, conference seating with two double seats, along with two single vip seats and a three place divan. “All types of customers are attracted to the Legacy and we will be able to offer them 90 per cent of the flight time for charter use. I’m sure we will be able to attract demand, because the Swiss charter market is going fairly well at the moment,” said Gisel.
Pisco took advantage of the low prices currently available from manufacturers, according to Gisel. He added: “The aircraft has been easily incorporated into the company, although we did need some more pilots. But fortunately with Swiss Air’s recent problems there were around 200 to choose from.”
