Milan's Loop SpA has become one of the latest customers to purchase a Piaggio P180. The aircraft, which has benefited from its Ferrari backed relaunch, will be operated by an unnamed private aviation company.
"We keep in touch with Piaggio and they told us that there was a client interested in the aircraft. We then closed the deal with Piaggio and leased the aircraft to our client on a three-year contract.
"This is actually our first aircraft, generally we hire out machines and IT equipment. Loop is a finance company, so although we own the aircraft it won't be used by our company," said sales manager Andrea Caberlon.
Aside from financing the aircraft, Loop had little to do with the technicalities. "I believe the
aircraft has kept the standard factory configuration. The customer chose the aircraft and we left him to it," he said.
Loop hopes to continue its relationship with the Piaggio product. "We still don't know what will be done with the aircraft after these three years are up, but we have an agreement with Piaggio regarding a buy back. Personally, I think in the future there could well be more deals involving Piaggio's aircraft," added Caberlon.
