UK-based Metro Business Aviation has elected to combine its resources with the corporate aircraft services of xjet Limited. The partnership is effective September 1, 2000.

A Metro spokesman said: "xjet's range of services include charter operations, consultancy, manage-ment, aircraft sales and acquisitions. As such, it provides a perfect alliance partner for Metro which adds handling, maintenance and fuel expertise to the portfolio."

xjet has a managed aircraft fleet which includes a Citation 650 and further aircraft are expected to complement the fleet in the coming months.

xjet managing director Hugh Wilson said: "New entry business aircraft users, in particular, need assistance in finding the right people to operate and maintain their aircraft and to simplify the management complexities.

"But also, traditional users who for many years have both chartered and operated aircraft continue to want top-quality standards and service."

Metro's chief executive Steve Grimes said: "The combination of xjet and Metro can offer a truly integrated and individual service to all types of business aircraft user. A top class service that really adds value to the services our companies offer."
