The French DGAC has approved a one-piece windshield kit for all Piper PA-28/-28R and PA-44 aircraft. The advantages of this replacement windshield include safety, cabin noise reduction and increased speed, according to US manufacturers of the kit, Kosola and Associates.

The French airworthiness approval joins US FAA STC/PMA and German LBA certification. The modification is comprised of a one-quarter inch plexiglass windshield for better strike protection, tinting to reduce eye-strain, and greater visibility due to the removal of the central support in the old windshield. "The one-piece kit removes the 'bug-eye' look of your aeroplane so it looks like the later model PA-34 Senecas," said Kosola. "All kits are in stock for immediate shipping."
