London Biggin Hill Airport has launched an express London link-up service promising executive aircraft passengers arrival in central London in 10 minutes. The tie-in with Biggin Hill Helicopters offers a short hop across the apron from business jet to helicopter, followed by a six-minute journey into the London Heliport at Battersea.
Captain Bill Lowry of Biggin Hill Helicopters said: "We are delighted to have formalised an agreement with the airport for helicopter transfers. Both the Bell JetRanger and even more so the Eurocopter are getting busier and busier moving executive jet passengers from the airport as its traffic grows."
Biggin Hill says the helicopter service can also link directly with London's other airports including Heathrow, for passengers wishing to catch transatlantic services.
Having arrived at Battersea, passengers are encouraged to use Biggin Hill Airport's preferred executive chauffeur partners Tristar or FlightLink International to complete their onwards journey.
Airport marketing manager Julie Black added: "Biggin Hill Helicopters provide the high level of service that the airport and our customers demand and this makes them the perfect operator to provide our traffic-busting Central London shuttle service." A spokesman added: "The airport can also offer extremely competitive charter rates on a range of other rotorcraft up to a luxurious S76 for larger groups."
