Motor Sich, the Ukrainian aero engine producer, plans to design and build a light passenger helicopter, dubbed the K-228, within the next two or three years. Yuri Basov, Motor Sich's chief-designer is reported to have said that the new helicopter will be able to carry up to six passengers. He expects the helicopter will be cheaper than western-built machines in this class. Basov also said the helicopter will be fitted with a modern engine, also made by Motor Sich.
